Dungarvan -Happy Halloween

I'm late! (nothing unusual)
Hi Mom and Dad,

My plans have changed slightly. I got a flight yesterday from London to Cork. I picked up the car (cool, pics will be up on Tuesday) and drove to Sherry's in Cappoquin. She has a beautiful home. Everyone is doing fine.

I landed in Cork at 4:30 in the afternoon. Got lost in traffic for a while but with help I was guided in the right direction. Made it to Sherry's around 7:30 pm. We were up until 3 am.

Happy Halloween!!
Happy spooky birthday Alysha!

We are at Vincent, James' brother, and Christine's home in Dungarvan so I could send this note.

Weather today: an eerie cloudy day (no rain); 13 degrees nice!

Escaping from the CLUTCHES of the law

Friday night, last night, driving around with Kristin. All is good. Well, kind of jerky!! We are both tired. Since it was our last chance before I fly, we needed to do this...

Not a problem! I'll take the wheel and we head to the base. Military base. Where? That's top secret.

I can do this? I know, I can do this. After a while of going in circles, we head for the hill. Easy going down but can I get back up? Half way there, put on the brakes. Now what? OK, back off the clutch, foot off the brake and give it some gas ...

Did I do it.......mmmmm.........not quite. So back to the base parking lot. Oh, Oh! Flashing lights.

They have been watching us for a while, now. I guess the military "boys in blue" decided to close in on us. I stop. Slowly the officer approaches. "Just learning to drive standard", I said. After checking my license and confirming who own the car, he heads back to his cruiser.

We laugh! "This will make for a good blog story!", Kristin says.

I took a picture of a picture with my phone, bluetoothed it and voila!

Flower picture

Hey Fran,

This is a bloom from the begonia plant that I have had since Richard, my brother-in-law gave it to me a few years. It has bloomed for me twice. I found out online, there are many types. The one that Gigi, my sister, has blooms all the time.

Beautiful cottage country

Travelling renews your appreciation for your home. This is one of my favourite places to be.

Looking over
Lake Temiscaming

Looking up at the cottage
Pine Haven

Aunt Mae's cottage
The Lebel's, always the perfect hosts.

Around here you can find the rare Pink Lady's Slipper (Cypripedium acaule) flower
and some of the best blue berries in the land.

Blog beginning...

Life is a journey. There is a beginning and an end. It is said in the song titled "Nobody" by Five for Fighting,

"...Though endings are never ever happy
It’s the happy moments along the way
That in the end
Make it…ok..."

This journey begins on Oct 29th, 2004 when I travel to Europe for a two week adventure.

Dear family,

Thanksgiving has just past. Before I go, I want to give thanks to so many people I love. First, my mom and dad, where would I be with out you. To my brother and sisters, and Lise, Jeffrey and Richard thanks for always putting up with me and my craziness. To all my dear aunts, uncles and cousins, precious are you to my heart no matter the distance.

Dear friends,

You make my world rock, thanks. Special thanks to Carolyn and Jennifer for giving me courage; to Kristin for letting me drive Steve's car and for your psychic insight; to Libby for making this ride smoother this past year. North Bayites (yes, you too Heather) you mean the world to me. To all my young friends, nephews and nieces thanks for keeping my eyes open to life's endless possiblities.

Most importantly I need to thank Josée for twice in my life time you have rescued me from the edge. Your shoulders are wide and much I have learned from you since I moved to Ottawa.

Dear Sherry, James, Deirdre and Saoirse, see you soon!

ps I'll do my best but feel free to correct me on my grammar errors.

Let the adventure begin...
